Kidapawan City, Cotabato — December 6, 2024
Authorities arrested two men in Barangay Katipunan, Kidapawan City, after being caught in possession of unlicensed firearms.
According to reports, the suspects were brought to the Kidapawan City Police Station around 11:40 PM by Barangay Katipunan Chairman. The individuals were identified as “Cliff,” 31, a resident of Barangay Katipunan, and “Elmer,” 49, from New Cebu, President Roxas, Cotabato.
Recovered from “Cliff” was an Armscor 9mm revolver with serial number 6214 and one bullet. Meanwhile, “Elmer” was found in possession of a .38 caliber revolver without a serial number, also loaded with one bullet.
Both suspects failed to present the necessary documents for the firearms, leading to their arrest. They are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591, also known as the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to urge the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to combat crime effectively. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities immediately to the authorities.
