VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon — A 65-year-old man was arrested after allegedly selling a .45-caliber pistol during a buy-bust operation in Purok 8, Dabongdabong, Barangay Mailag, Valencia City, Bukidnon, at around 5:45 p.m. on October 1, 2026.

Police identified the suspect as a man known by the alias “Alfonso.” Authorities said the operation targeted the alleged illegal sale of firearms and was carried out through a coordinated effort involving the Tracker Team of the Provincial Intelligence Unit, the Valencia City Police Station, and other intelligence and mobile units in Region 10.
During the operation, authorities reportedly recovered one Caspian .45-caliber pistol, along with one steel magazine, ₱1,000 in marked money, and ₱8,000 in boodle money used in the operation.
The recovered firearm was turned over to the Bukidnon Provincial Forensic Unit for ballistic examination. The examination is expected to help establish the firearm’s technical characteristics and provide evidence relevant to the investigation.
The suspect was brought to the Valencia City Police Station for documentation and further proceedings.
Authorities said the suspect is set to face a case for an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The arrest underscores the continuing law-enforcement operations against the illegal trade and possession of firearms in Bukidnon and other parts of Northern Mindanao.
The allegations against the suspect remain subject to the investigation and appropriate court proceedings. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
