GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — A 52-year-old woman identified by police as a high-value individual (HVI) was arrested after authorities seized 76.65 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱521,220 during a buy-bust operation along Diversion Road in Barangay Sinawal, General Santos City, at about 10:10 p.m. on September 18, 2026.

Police identified the arrested suspect only by the alias “Paloma,” a resident of Barangay Apopong, General Santos City.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 2 of the General Santos City Police Office.
According to the police account, a poseur-buyer was able to purchase one large sachet containing 4.43 grams of suspected shabu from Paloma during the entrapment operation.
After the suspect was arrested, police conducted a body search and allegedly recovered six additional sachets containing suspected shabu. The six sachets had a combined estimated weight of 72.22 grams.
The police said the total drug evidence recovered during the operation consisted of seven sachets weighing 76.65 grams, with an estimated SDP of ₱521,220.
Aside from the suspected illegal drugs, authorities also recovered the marked buy-bust money, cash, identification and LTO documents, and a smartphone.
Paloma was initially brought to the CPDEU-GSCPO Office for proper processing and medical examination. She was subsequently transferred to the custodial facility of Police Station 2.
The confiscated suspected shabu was turned over to General Santos City Forensic Unit 12 for qualitative and quantitative laboratory examination.
Police said criminal complaints are being prepared for filing through inquest proceedings for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Section 5 covers the illegal sale, trading, administration, delivery, distribution and transportation of dangerous drugs, while Section 11 covers the illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
The charges remain allegations unless and until established in court. The seized substance is likewise described as suspected shabu pending laboratory examination.
