KABACAN, Cotabato – Three individuals were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the Kabacan Municipal Police Station in Barangay Magatos, Kabacan, Cotabato, after police responded to a report of an alleged drug session.

The operation was carried out on July 15, 2026, in Purok Lagundungan, Barangay Magatos, following information provided by a concerned citizen regarding an alleged pot session taking place in the area.

Acting swiftly on the report, police personnel immediately conducted a verification operation, which led to the successful apprehension of the three suspects.

Authorities recovered a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live rounds of ammunition, three sachets containing suspected shabu, and assorted drug paraphernalia believed to have been used in the illegal drug activity.

Police said all confiscated evidence was properly marked, inventoried, and documented in the presence of the mandatory witnesses in strict compliance with Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, to preserve the integrity and evidentiary value of the seized items.

The arrested suspects are currently under the custody of the Kabacan Municipal Police Station while the appropriate criminal complaints are being prepared against them for violations of Republic Act No. 9165 and Republic Act No. 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The Cotabato Police Provincial Office reiterated its commitment to sustaining aggressive law enforcement operations against illegal drugs and the proliferation of loose firearms, describing such efforts as vital in maintaining peace and public safety across the province.

Police also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with authorities by reporting suspicious activities and criminal incidents in their communities.

Officials emphasized that community participation remains a key component in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, noting that timely information from concerned citizens significantly contributes to the successful conduct of police operations and the prevention of criminal activities.
