KABACAN, Cotabato — Two individuals were arrested and firearms and illegal drugs were seized in separate search warrant operations conducted by the Kabacan Municipal Police Station in Sitio Lumayong, Barangay Kayaga, on Tuesday afternoon, February 3, 2026.

The first operation was carried out at around 3:50 p.m., leading to the arrest of a female suspect identified by police as alias “Noraida,” of legal age and a resident of the area. Authorities implemented a search warrant at her residence, where they recovered six sachets of suspected shabu, a caliber .38 revolver, and an improvised glass tube or “tooter,” commonly used for illegal drug intake.

Barely an hour later, at around 5:00 p.m., police operatives conducted a follow-up operation in the same sitio, resulting in the arrest of another suspect identified as alias “Bapa,” also of legal age and a resident of Barangay Kayaga.

During the search of his residence, authorities confiscated seven sachets of suspected shabu, a caliber .45 pistol, and several rounds of ammunition.

Police said the operations were conducted pursuant to valid search warrants and formed part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms in the municipality.

Both suspects are currently detained at the lock-up cell of the Kabacan Municipal Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The Kabacan police reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining anti-criminality operations and urged the public to continue cooperating by reporting suspicious activities in their communities.
