TUGUNAN, Special Geographic Area-BARMM — A man was killed after being shot multiple times by still unidentified assailants in front of the Municipal Hall of Tugunan, Special Geographic Area (SGA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), on Wednesday morning, June 10.

The victim was initially identified by authorities and local residents as Toto Dodog, also known as “Bapa Toto Dodog,” an adult male and resident of Barangay Manaulanan, Tugunan.
According to initial reports, Dodog was aboard his pick-up truck when he was suddenly attacked by gunmen in front of the municipal hall. Witnesses said the assailants opened fire on the victim, causing panic among residents and government employees in the area.
Despite sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, Dodog was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by attending physicians.
Photos circulating online showed the victim’s pick-up truck parked at the scene, bearing evidence of the violent attack that unfolded in broad daylight.
The shooting sent shockwaves through the community, particularly because the incident occurred in a highly visible area directly in front of a government building. Authorities immediately responded to secure the crime scene, gather evidence, and launch an investigation into the killing.
As of this writing, police investigators have yet to establish the motive behind the attack. The identities of the gunmen and whether the victim was specifically targeted remain under investigation.
Law enforcement authorities are currently reviewing available evidence and interviewing potential witnesses in an effort to identify the perpetrators and determine the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting.
No arrests have been reported so far.
The death of Dodog has drawn condolences from relatives, friends, and residents of Barangay Manaulanan, who have called on authorities to ensure that justice is served and those responsible for the killing are brought to court.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to coordinate with investigators as efforts continue to solve the case.
