MABUHAY, Zamboanga Sibugay — Authorities arrested an adult male during a search warrant operation that led to the seizure of more than ₱100,000 worth of suspected shabu and firearm-related evidence in the municipality of Mabuhay, Zamboanga Sibugay on May 31, 2026.

The operation was spearheaded by personnel of the Police Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) under the supervision of PLTCOL John Conrad A. Villanueva, in coordination with the Police Intelligence Unit (PIU), the 903rd Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB), the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and the Mabuhay Municipal Police Station (MPS).

Authorities served a search warrant issued by Hon. Octavius G. Soriano of the Regional Trial Court Branch 31 in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

According to the police report, operatives recovered three sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 15 grams with an estimated standard drug price of ₱102,000.

Also confiscated during the operation were a cigarette case, two lighters, two rounds of 9mm ammunition, and aluminum foil believed to be drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was immediately taken into police custody and brought to the Mabuhay MPS for proper disposition and documentation.

Meanwhile, all confiscated pieces of evidence were turned over to the Zamboanga Sibugay Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and further forensic processing.

Authorities have yet to release the identity of the arrested individual as of posting time while charges for violations of the country’s anti-drug and firearms laws are being prepared against the suspect.

The latest operation forms part of the intensified anti-illegal drug campaign being conducted by law enforcement agencies across Zamboanga Peninsula amid continuing concerns over the proliferation of illegal drugs and loose firearms in local communities.
