HADJI MOHAMMAD AJUL, Basilan — The lifeless body of an unidentified man was discovered floating in the seawaters of Barangay Basakan in the municipality of Hadji Mohammad Ajul on Thursday, triggering concern among residents and prompting an ongoing investigation by authorities.

According to initial accounts from residents, the body was spotted in a shallow coastal area early in the day, causing villagers to gather near the shoreline as authorities were alerted to the scene.
Witnesses said the victim was still fully clothed when found floating in the water. As of this writing, authorities have yet to determine the identity of the deceased, while investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the possible cause of death.
