A 66-year-old man is now under police custody after he allegedly hacked his own brother during a violent attack early Monday morning in Purok 2, Barangay Mabuhay, Valencia City.

According to the Valencia City Police Station, the 64-year-old victim was washing dishes outside their residence when the suspect suddenly attacked him without warning.
Authorities said the suspect used a “lampas,” a sharp bladed weapon, and struck the victim at the back of the head, causing serious injuries that required immediate medical attention. The wounded victim was rushed to Polymedic General Hospital for treatment.
Personnel from the Revitalized Pulis Sa Barangay (RPSB) quickly responded to the incident, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the weapon used in the attack.
Initial police investigation revealed that authorities have yet to determine a clear motive behind the violent assault.
The suspect is currently detained at the police custodial facility and is expected to face charges of frustrated parricide or physical injuries, depending on the findings of the ongoing investigation and the condition of the victim.
Police authorities continue to conduct further investigation into the incident while urging the public to immediately report domestic violence and disputes that could escalate into bloodshed.
