QUEZON, Bukidnon – A 50-year-old man narrowly escaped death after being shot by an unidentified motorcycle-riding suspect in broad daylight in Purok 14, Poblacion, Quezon, Bukidnon, past 9:00 a.m. on January 10, 2026.
The victim, identified only as alias Albert, was rushed for medical treatment after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest. He is currently in stable condition, according to initial reports.
The Quezon Infirmary Health Unit immediately alerted the Quezon Municipal Police Station about the shooting incident, prompting a swift police response.
Based on the initial investigation, the victim was driving his motorcycle when an unknown male suspect, wearing a black jacket and riding a black XRM motorcycle, suddenly appeared and fired a single shot at him before fleeing toward a nearby barangay.
Police operatives recovered one spent shell casing of a .45 caliber firearm at the crime scene, indicating the type of weapon used in the attack.
The Quezon PNP has launched a hot pursuit operation and intensified its investigation to identify and arrest the suspect. Authorities are also checking nearby CCTV cameras and gathering witness statements to determine the motive behind the attack.
Police urge anyone with information about the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts to immediately coordinate with the nearest police station.
