DANCAGAN, Bukidnon — A 76-year-old man who was earlier reported missing was found dead after his body surfaced in a river in Barangay San Vicente, Dancagan, Bukidnon, past 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, authorities confirmed.

The discovery was reported by the barangay captain of San Vicente to the local police after residents spotted a lifeless body floating in the river. The victim was identified as “Virgilio,” 76, whose remains were later positively identified by his son. Police records showed that the elderly man had been reported missing at the Quezon Municipal Police Station after he left their home at around 5:00 a.m. on December 9, 2025. According to his family, Virgilio boarded a tri-cab heading toward Purok 16, Barangay San Jose, Quezon, Bukidnon.

Investigators said a witness came forward stating that he saw a man jump from the Pulangi Bridge at around 6:05 a.m. on the same day Virgilio went missing. Based on the initial findings, authorities ruled drowning as the cause of death. The victim’s body has since been brought to Good Life Funeral Homes in Quezon, Bukidnon, while police continue to document the case and coordinate with the family for proper disposition of the remains.
