TACURONG CITY, Sultan Kudarat — Authorities arrested a man after the joint forces of PDEA-12 and the Tacurong City Police Station recovered illegal drugs, a firearm, and a grenade launcher during a search warrant operation in Brgy. Katungal on Tuesday afternoon, December 9, 2025.
The suspect, identified only as “Ron,” of legal age and a resident of the area, was taken into custody after operatives found multiple illegal items inside his residence around 3:00 p.m.
Recovered from the suspect were three heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a .38 revolver, ammunition, and one grenade launcher round—an item considered highly dangerous and strictly prohibited.
According to Tacurong City Police Chief PLtCol Jardi Mont Sibal, the operation reflects the intensified campaign of law enforcement against illegal drugs and the possession of prohibited weapons and explosives.
“This is part of our continuous effort to curb illegal activities in Tacurong. We will not tolerate individuals who endanger the community by keeping drugs and deadly weapons,” Sibal stressed.
Charges for violating Section 5, Article 2 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition), and illegal possession of explosives are being prepared against the suspect.
He is currently detained at the Tacurong City Police Station while awaiting formal filing of cases and further investigation.
