GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Residents of General Santos City are growing increasingly alarmed as another shooting incident claimed the life of a man on Monday night, adding to the string of killings that have unsettled local communities.
The latest victim was identified by the Police as John Daniel Ceneza Tando, also known as “Botchok”, an adult resident of Purok Carding, Barangay Labangal.
Initial police investigation revealed that Tando was shot by unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle at around 8 p.m. in Purok Istanislaw, Barangay Labangal, near the border of Doña Soledad. The gunmen reportedly fled immediately after the attack, leaving the victim lifeless at the scene.
Authorities are still determining the motive behind the killing, while residents have expressed growing fear and frustration over the series of shootings that have recently rocked the city. Calls for tighter security and visible police patrols have intensified as the community grapples with concerns about their safety.
Police units in General Santos City are conducting follow-up operations and reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify the perpetrators.
Local leaders, meanwhile, are urging law enforcement agencies to take swift action to curb the rising incidents of violence and restore peace and order in the affected barangays.
