CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A 46-year-old construction worker was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 (RPDEU-10) in Barangay Pagatpat on September 22, 2025.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Ren-ren,” a resident of Pagatpat, was caught in possession of five heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 110 grams with an estimated value of ₱748,000. Also seized were a plastic container, a motorcycle, and the ₱1,000 marked bill used in the operation.

Police reports indicate that this was the suspect’s first recorded offense. He allegedly obtained the drugs from sources in Carmen and distributed them in the areas of Calaanan, Canitoan, and Pagatpat.

Following his arrest, “Ren-ren” and other non-drug evidence were placed under custody at the Maharlika Custodial Facility, while the seized illegal drugs were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 10 for examination. He will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) Regional Director PBGEN Rolindo M. Suguilon commended RPDEU-10 for the successful operation, underscoring the Philippine National Police’s commitment to its anti-drug campaign.

“This successful operation is a clear message that PRO-10 will not let up in its campaign against illegal drugs. We remain steadfast in our duty to safeguard our communities and protect our people from the harms of this menace,” Suguilon said. “I commend the RPDEU-10 for their dedication and professionalism, and I call on the public to continue supporting our efforts to make Northern Mindanao a drug-free region.”
