DAVAO CITY — A man identified as Jerwin Sampag Bailan, also known as “Awing,” a resident of Sitio Kapatagan, Barangay Gupitan, Kapalong, Davao del Norte, was found dead along the riverbanks of Lower Madapo, Barangay 5-A, Bankerohan, Davao City on Saturday afternoon, August 30, 2025.
Police investigators confirmed that the victim was the same person reported missing the previous night, August 29, after allegedly jumping into the river from a bridge in Barangay 8-A, Lower Madapo, Bankerohan. His remains were later discovered behind a residence in Purok 17-B, Lower Madapo.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
