BASILAN, Philippines — Two alleged drug personalities were arrested while over Php 204,000 worth of suspected shabu and a firearm were confiscated during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay North Gaunan, Maluso, Basilan, on August 24, 2025.
According to the Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR), operatives launched the operation after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen. The suspects, known only by their aliases “Bob” and “Rambo,” were caught in the act of selling suspected shabu.
Authorities seized several sachets of the illegal substance along with a caliber .45 pistol during the operation. The two are now under the custody of the Maluso Municipal Police Station, pending proper charges.
PBGEN Jaysen C. de Guzman, PRO BAR Regional Director, commended the Basilan Police Provincial Office for their swift action and cooperation in the successful operation. He also urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement in its campaign against crime and illegal drugs.
