DATU ANGGAL MIDTIMBANG, Maguindanao del Sur — Two individuals suspected of involvement in cattle rustling and theft were apprehended by local police on July 8, 2025, following a swift operation by the Datu Anggal Midtimbang Municipal Police Station (DAM MPS).

The arrest occurred around 10:25 a.m. after police responded to a report of livestock theft in Barangay Midtimbang, involving one large cattle and several goats. Acting quickly on the tip, authorities intercepted two male suspects identified by their aliases “Abdul” and “Guapo,” both residents of the said barangay.

The duo was caught riding a motorcycle with suspicious cargo concealed in sacks. Upon inspection, police recovered two stolen goats. The suspects were immediately taken into custody, while the motorcycle and the recovered livestock were secured at the barangay for proper documentation.

Police are now preparing to file appropriate criminal charges against the suspects, who remain detained at the Datu Anggal Midtimbang MPS.

PCOL Sultan Salman H. Sapal, Provincial Director of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, lauded the swift action of the local police.

“This arrest sends a clear message to those planning criminal activities in the province that law enforcement is alert and will hold offenders accountable,” he said.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine if the suspects are linked to other similar incidents in the area.
