City of Mati, Davao Oriental – In a warm and cordial meeting, the transition teams of outgoing Governor Niño Uy and incoming Governor-elect Cong. Nelson Dayanghirang agreed to work closely for a smooth and formal turnover of leadership during a preliminary conference held today at the GCNM Conference Hall, New Capitol Building.
The meeting was led by Provincial Administrator Atty. Alejandro Aquino, with representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Office in attendance. The main goal of the gathering was to ensure a peaceful and well-organized leadership transition at the provincial capitol.
Officials present discussed the procedures for handing over documents and records, conducting inventory of physical assets, and preparing for the formal turnover ceremony as the new governor assumes office.
The incoming administration also extended an invitation to all departments to participate in two upcoming events: the celebration of Araw ng Davao Oriental on July 1, and the inaugural program on July 2, 2025. Governor-elect Dayanghirang is set to officially assume office at noon on June 30, 2025.
The meeting was marked by cooperation and unity, as representatives from various provincial departments and offices aligned on the necessary steps to ensure continuity in public service without confusion or delay.
