Zamboanga Sibugay – In a continued crackdown on illegal drugs, the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office reported the successful arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of suspected shabu valued at ₱28,560 in two separate operations in Ipil and Tungawan.
On June 11, 2025, at around 12:20 p.m., operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Ipil Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), conducted a buy-bust operation at Purok Uranus, Barangay Bangkeruhan in Ipil. The operation led to the arrest of a 47-year-old male, identified as a Newly Identified Street-Level Individual (SLI). Authorities seized six sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 1.70 grams and valued at ₱11,560.
In a separate operation in the early hours of June 12, around 1:30 a.m., the Tungawan Municipal Police Station served a search warrant (No. FC9-SW-2025-023) at Purok Sunflower, Barangay Libertad in Tungawan. A 39-year-old male was arrested, and law enforcement confiscated seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing an estimated 2.5 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱17,000.
Provincial Director PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo commended the operating units for their swift and coordinated actions.
“These successful operations reflect our unrelenting commitment to the Philippine National Police’s campaign against illegal drugs. We assure the public that we will continue to intensify our efforts to keep our communities safe and drug-free,” he said.
The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office urged the public to continue cooperating with authorities by reporting any suspicious activities related to the illegal drug trade.
