TUGUNAN, SGA-BARMM — Two rifle grenades were discovered at around 6:00 a.m. at Crossing Pamalianan in Barangay Manaulanan, Sitio Buwanawan, Tugunan, Special Geographic Area (SGA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), prompting authorities to immediately secure the area.
The two explosive devices were found at the roadside area of Crossing Pamalianan. Authorities quickly established a security cordon around the location and placed barriers to prevent residents and other individuals from approaching the suspected explosives.
No injuries or casualties were reported in connection with the discovery.
Authorities advised residents to stay away from the area and refrain from entering the cordoned-off portion until it has been officially declared safe.
The discovery prompted the immediate implementation of appropriate safety protocols while authorities took control of the area and secured the two rifle grenades for proper handling and disposition.
Authorities have not indicated how the rifle grenades came to be at the location, and no conclusion has been made regarding their ownership, origin, or intended use.
Residents were reminded to exercise extreme caution when encountering suspected explosive devices or unexploded ordnance. They were advised not to touch, move, inspect, or otherwise approach such items and instead immediately report their location to the authorities.
The area remains under the supervision of the concerned authorities as safety measures continue to be implemented.
