CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Two suspected drug personalities were arrested by police authorities following a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of more than ₱400,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs in Barangay Bulua on April 30, 2026.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases “Jay,” 19, and “Joe,” 32, both residents of the area, were apprehended after allegedly engaging in the illegal drug trade. Confiscated from their possession were six sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 60 grams with an estimated street value of ₱408,000.
Initial police investigation revealed that the illegal transaction was conducted inside the residence of alias “Joe,” which authorities suspect may have been used as a base for drug distribution. Investigators are also looking into the possibility that the suspects were involved in the delivery of illegal drugs within the city.
Further probing indicated that the supply of the suspected shabu may have originated from a truck driver operating within the city, suggesting a broader network behind the distribution chain.
The arrested individuals are currently under police custody, while the seized substances have been submitted for forensic examination to confirm their composition.
Authorities said the suspects will face charges for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which imposes severe penalties for the sale, possession, and distribution of illegal drugs.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations and dismantle local drug networks, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities.
