TALAYAN, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR — Two long-running clan feuds involving influential Moro groups were finally settled on December 7, 2025, following separate peace negotiations led by Maguindanao del Sur Governor Datu Ali M. Midtimbang. The twin breakthroughs further strengthen the provincial government’s campaign for lasting peace, unity, and stability across conflict-affected communities.

In the first settlement, representatives of the groups led by Kagui Abugado Sakilan and Commander Datu Tonie formalized their reconciliation at the Provincial Governor’s Sub Office in Talayan. Governor Midtimbang, together with Provincial Director PCol. Sultan Salman Sapal, facilitated the dialogue to ensure a calm, fair, and meaningful exchange between both parties.
As part of the agreement, the group of Kagi Adziz Mamasainged took an oath before the Holy Quran, affirming their clear conscience and declaring they had no involvement in the allegations previously raised against them. Officials underscored that the provincial government remains firm in pushing for peaceful coexistence and community harmony.
On the same day, another significant rido involving families in Mamasapano was finally concluded. Members of the MILF–BIAF 118th Base Command, Anwari Gayanandang and Diya Mohammad Payatok—both residents of Sitio Manggapang, Brgy. Manongkaling—signed a final peace agreement after prolonged tensions that previously resulted in casualties, displacement of villagers, and disruption of livelihoods.
The settlement was achieved after extensive mediation by Governor Midtimbang, who persuaded both sides to reconcile for the greater good of their community. Under the agreement, the displaced party will now be allowed to peacefully return to Mamasapano without objections, paving the way for full restoration of relations and stability.
Provincial officials emphasized that these dual successes highlight Governor Midtimbang’s steadfast commitment to conflict resolution and grassroots peace-building. By serving as a bridge between warring groups, he continues to bring hope to communities long burdened by clan feuds—pushing Maguindanao del Sur closer to a future marked by safety, unity, and sustainable progress.
