SULTAN SA BARONGIS, Maguindanao del Sur — Authorities are investigating a possible case of foul play after an unidentified male body was discovered stuffed inside a sack in Barangay Papakan on Thursday afternoon.
According to a report from the Bangsamoro Police, the body—believed to be that of a man aged 30 to 45—was found around 4:00 p.m. wearing gray shorts and a yellow shirt. His feet were bound, and he was placed inside a white sack.
Residents of Barangay Papakan initially found the body but were unable to leave the area due to flooding. With roads rendered impassable, concerned citizens transported the remains to Barangay Bulod to ensure police assistance could be coordinated.
Initial examination by investigators from the Sultan sa Barongis Police Station revealed head injuries on the victim, though authorities have yet to determine the cause and circumstances behind his death. The identity of the man also remains unknown.
Police have launched an investigation to determine who the victim is and what led to his death, noting that the condition of the body and the manner in which it was found suggest possible foul play.
Sultan sa Barongis PNP is urging the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the victim.
Authorities appeal to anyone with missing family members to immediately coordinate with the Sultan sa Barongis Police Station.
