COTABATO CITY – Governors of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have declared their unified support for Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” A. Macacua amid the extended transition period of the Bangsamoro government.
In a joint statement issued on November 4, 2025, the regional leaders expressed their “unwavering support” for Macacua, commending his steady and inclusive leadership that has renewed unity, cooperation, and shared purpose across the region.
“Under his leadership, we have witnessed renewed unity, cooperation, and shared purpose in advancing peace and development across the Bangsamoro Region,” the statement read. The governors lauded Macacua’s dedication to good governance and his efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Bangsamoro government and local government units (LGUs).
They also affirmed their collective confidence in Macacua’s leadership and vowed to continue supporting his administration to sustain the gains of peace and development achieved in recent years.
“We urge our fellow Bangsamoro to stand behind our shared pursuit of genuine and meaningful autonomy in the BARMM,” the governors said, emphasizing that unity remains essential in realizing the aspirations of the Bangsamoro people.
The statement was signed by Basilan Governor Mujiv S. Hataman, Maguindanao del Norte Governor Datu Tucao Mastura, Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Adiong, Maguindanao del Sur Governor Datu Ali Midtimbang, and Tawi-Tawi Governor Yshmael “Mang” Sali.
Their collective expression of support comes as the Bangsamoro government continues its transition phase, with efforts focused on institutional reforms, strengthening governance, and ensuring that the peace dividends of the Bangsamoro Organic Law reach all communities across the region.
