SIASI, Sulu | November 1, 2025 — The 104th Infantry “Para sa Bayan” Battalion, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Roy R. Dalumpines, intensified its peace and youth empowerment efforts through a lecture on Preventing and Countering Radicalization and Violent Extremism (PCRVE) and an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign on the West Philippine Sea during the Siasi Youth Summit 2025 held at the Siasi Municipal Hall.

The lecture and IEC session were facilitated by 1LT Roylando C. Garcia, Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Officer, together with SSg Mudar S. Naddin (Inf) PA, CMO NCO. The activity gathered 50 Sanggunian Kabataan (SK) Chairpersons from various barangays in Siasi, under the leadership of Mayor Ben Sayeed Muksan and with the support of Dr. Jay Matarul, PhD, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator and Local Youth Development Officer.

The event aimed to raise awareness among the youth about the dangers of radicalization and violent extremism while emphasizing their crucial role in promoting peace, unity, and security within their communities. It also sought to strengthen the youth’s understanding of pressing national issues, particularly the situation in the West Philippine Sea, to enhance their sense of nationalism and support for the country’s sovereign rights.

The summit’s objectives focused on empowering young leaders to become advocates of peace, resilience, and responsible citizenship through active participation in local and national peacebuilding initiatives. It also underscored the importance of collaboration between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the youth sector in fostering a peaceful, informed, and patriotic generation.

In a statement, the 104th Infantry Battalion reaffirmed its commitment to supporting youth development, peace education, and national awareness programs. The battalion emphasized that nurturing informed and engaged young leaders is vital to sustaining peace, stability, and integrity in Sulu and across the nation.

“The youth are the frontliners of peace and progress. By educating and empowering them, we build stronger, more resilient communities,” said LTC Dalumpines.

The Siasi Youth Summit 2025 serves as another testament to the Army’s continued dedication to peacebuilding and national solidarity—strengthening the bridge between the military and the next generation of leaders.
