DAVAO CITY — Authorities from Maa Police Station 16 seized a firearm, ammunition, and suspected illegal drugs during the implementation of a search warrant against a known drug personality in Barangay Maa on Saturday morning, October 11, 2025.
The search warrant, issued by Executive Judge Rowena Apao-Adlawan of the Regional Trial Court, 11th Judicial Region in Davao City, targeted a 35-year-old suspect identified only as alias “Jong-Jong,” who is listed as the city’s Top 6 drug personality.
According to the police report, the operation was carried out around 10:30 a.m. in Purok 13, Barangay Maa. During the search, law enforcers recovered one .45 caliber pistol with ammunition and five sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱340,000.
The seized evidence has been turned over for forensic examination, while charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition (RA 10591) are being prepared against the suspect.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations across the city as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug activities and maintain peace and order in Davao City.
