TUBOD, Lanao del Norte — Mt. Turong-Turong, one of Lanao del Norte’s emerging eco-tourism gems, is poised to attract more visitors following the official turnover of four new infrastructure projects on September 24 in Barangay Kakai Renabor, Tubod.

The newly completed facilities include a multipurpose building, a view deck, a visitor’s center, and a parking area—all designed to enhance the experience of tourists while opening economic opportunities for local residents.

First conceptualized under the leadership of former governor and now 1st District Representative Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo, the projects aim to transform Mt. Turong-Turong into a top recreational and cultural destination. The facilities will not only serve as amenities for sightseers but also as a venue for community-led livelihood ventures such as local food stalls, handicrafts, and guided eco-tours.

During the turnover ceremony, representatives from the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, led by Provincial Administrator Lyndon Calica on behalf of Governor Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo, joined barangay officials of Kakai Renabor and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Lanao del Norte 1st District Engineering Office headed by District Engineer Aly Khan Ali.

The provincial government highlighted that the additional facilities are expected to strengthen Mt. Turong-Turong’s tourism potential, positioning it as a prime attraction that blends nature, culture, and local enterprise.

Nestled in Tubod’s highlands, Mt. Turong-Turong offers panoramic views, cool mountain air, and opportunities for outdoor activities. With the completion of these projects, officials believe the site will become a new favorite for families, adventure seekers, and travelers looking to explore the natural beauty of northern Mindanao.

“Mt. Turong-Turong is not just a destination—it is a community centerpiece that will help drive inclusive growth,” the provincial government said in a statement.
