EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental — Two individuals were arrested and approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P136,000 were seized during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Molugan, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, early Sunday, September 13.
The operation was conducted at around 12:04 a.m. in Zone 6, Barangay Molugan, by the El Salvador City Police Station (CPS) as the lead unit, with personnel from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office.
Police identified the arrested suspects as aliases “Ferdie,” 41, and “Danny,” 22, both residents of Barangay Molugan, El Salvador City.
Authorities said the operation resulted in the confiscation of five sachets containing suspected shabu, along with the P500 buy-bust money and suspected drug paraphernalia.
The seized substance had a combined weight of approximately 20 grams, which police estimated to have a street value of P136,000.
The operation forms part of the continuing anti-illegal drug campaign of police authorities in Misamis Oriental, targeting individuals allegedly involved in the distribution and sale of prohibited drugs within local communities.
Following their arrest, the two suspects were placed under the custody of the El Salvador City Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police said the confiscated suspected illegal drugs and other evidence will undergo the required examination and documentation as part of the case proceedings.
Police Regional Office 10 Regional Director PBGen Nestor C. Babagay Jr. emphasized that law enforcement authorities will continue to intensify operations against illegal drugs, particularly efforts aimed at preventing prohibited substances from reaching communities.
Babagay said the campaign remains focused on protecting residents, especially young people, from the potential consequences of illegal drug activity.
The suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
