SAN FERNANDO, BUKIDNON – A woman was killed while her husband and their 12-year-old son were injured after an armed man forcibly entered their home and opened fire in Sitio Sulog, Barangay Halapitan, San Fernando, Bukidnon, around 10:00 p.m. on October 14, 2025.

Police identified the fatality as Rutchell Lasponia Amad, 32, while the wounded were her husband Jorniel Amad, 34, and their 12-year-old son known by the alias “Biboy.” All are residents of the said sitio.

Initial police investigation revealed that the suspect, identified only by the alias “Gardo,” allegedly forced his way into the victims’ house and fired several shots using a caliber .45 pistol. Rutchell sustained gunshot wounds to the face, shoulder, and neck, causing her instant death. Jorniel was hit in the left arm and right thigh, while “Biboy” suffered gunshot wounds to his nose and right hand.

After the attack, the suspect reportedly fired several more shots at the victims’ house before fleeing the scene.

Authorities from the San Fernando Municipal Police Station have launched a hot pursuit operation to capture the suspect and are investigating the motive behind the brutal attack that has left the local community in fear.

Police are urging anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts to immediately coordinate with the nearest police station to aid in the ongoing manhunt.
