Issued: October 27, 2025 | By PAGASA Mindanao PRSD (El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental)
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Residents across Mindanao are urged to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides as a Low Pressure Area (LPA) continues to dump rains over parts of the region, according to the latest 5:00 AM forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
As of 3:00 AM today, the LPA was estimated at 260 kilometers west of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte (8.3°N, 121.0°E). PAGASA said the weather disturbance remains embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) — a weather system currently affecting Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Zamboanga Peninsula and BARMM: Expect Cloudy Skies, Heavy Rains
Zamboanga Peninsula and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are forecast to experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day due to the combined influence of the LPA and the ITCZ.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas may trigger flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Temperatures are expected to range between 21°C to 32°C, with light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest, and slight to moderate coastal seas (0.6 to 2.1 meters).
Rest of Mindanao: Localized Thunderstorms Possible
The rest of Mindanao — including Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Caraga — will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or evening. These localized thunderstorms may still cause sudden heavy downpours, prompting possible flooding or landslides in vulnerable areas.
