EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported early Monday that Tropical Storm “Ramil” continues to move northwestward over the West Philippine Sea, while Mindanao will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

As of 3:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm Ramil was estimated at 355 kilometers west-northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, or 340 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur (17.4°N, 117.3°E). It carries maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness reaching up to 80 km/h, and is moving northwestward at 25 km/h.

While the weather disturbance has no direct effect on Mindanao, the Mindanao PAGASA Regional Services Division (MINPRSD) warns residents of possible flash floods or landslides during severe localized thunderstorms. Winds across the island will be light to moderate from the northeast to southeast, with slight to moderate seas ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.


Regional Forecast Overview

Zamboanga Peninsula (Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, del Sur, Sibugay, and Isabela City):
Partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail throughout the day. Winds will remain light to moderate from northeast to southeast, bringing coastal conditions that range from slight to moderate. Temperatures will vary between 23°C and 35°C during the day and 24°C to 33°C tonight.

Northern Mindanao (Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental):
The region will continue to experience partly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers or thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening. Winds will be light to moderate, and sea conditions will remain generally calm. Temperature ranges from 19°C to 33°C.

Davao Region (Davao del Norte, del Sur, de Oro, Oriental, and Occidental, including Metro Davao):
Residents can expect warm and humid weather during the day, with isolated thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Temperatures will peak between 26°C and 35°C, while winds will blow lightly to moderately from the northeast to southeast.

SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato, and Cotabato City):
Fair weather will dominate most parts of the region, but localized thunderstorms may occur later in the day. Coastal waters will remain calm to moderate. Temperatures range from 23°C to 35°C.

Caraga Region (Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands):
Surigao del Sur and Dinagat Islands will experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms, while other parts of Caraga will have partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies. Winds will remain light to moderate, with sea conditions slight to moderate. Daytime highs may reach 35°C in some inland areas.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
(Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur):
Mostly fair weather with occasional cloudiness and isolated thunderstorms is expected. Light to moderate winds from the northeast to southeast will prevail, with slight to moderate coastal seas. Daytime temperatures will range from 21°C to 36°C.


Public Advisory

PAGASA advises residents in low-lying and mountainous areas to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides during periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Mariners are also reminded to exercise caution as seas, while generally moderate, may become rough during thunderstorm activity.
