MINDANAO — A Low Pressure Area (LPA) located 210 kilometers east of General Santos City continues to bring widespread rains and thunderstorms over many parts of Mindanao today, October 26, according to the latest regional weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) – Mindanao PRSD.

As of 3:00 AM, the LPA was spotted at 6.0°N, 127.0°E and remains embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) — a weather system that enhances cloud formation and rainfall over the region. PAGASA warned that Caraga, Davao Region, and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms throughout the day, while the rest of Mindanao will likewise have cloudy conditions and intermittent rainfall due to the same weather systems.

⚠️ Flood and Landslide Warnings

PAGASA cautioned residents, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas, against possible flash floods and landslides triggered by moderate to heavy rains. Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are also advised to remain alert as light to moderate winds from the northeast to northwest will prevail, bringing slight to moderate sea conditions with wave heights reaching up to 2.5 meters.

Zamboanga Peninsula — Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Isabela City will experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and night. Winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to northwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters. Temperatures are expected to range from 23°C to 32°C.

Northern Mindanao — Provinces such as Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, and Misamis Oriental will see cloudy skies and scattered thunderstorms. PAGASA advises the public to remain cautious of lightning and sudden heavy rainfall, especially in hilly areas. Temperatures will range from 21°C to 31°C.

Davao RegionMetro Davao, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental will also experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms due to the combined effects of the LPA and ITCZ. Daytime temperatures will be between 25°C and 31°C, with coastal waters remaining slight to moderate.

SOCCSKSARGEN — Including North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and Sarangani, the area will experience cloudy skies with thunderstorms, with potential heavy rainfall in localized areas. Winds will remain light to moderate from the northeast to northwest, with sea conditions ranging from slight to moderate.

Caraga RegionAgusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands will continue to experience overcast skies, frequent rain showers, and thunderstorms throughout the forecast period. PAGASA warns of localized flooding in urban and rural communities due to persistent rains.

Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) — Provinces such as Cotabato City, Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur will also see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 22°C to 31°C. Coastal conditions remain slight to moderate.


🌬️ Winds and Seas

Across Mindanao, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the northeast to northwest, maintaining manageable sea conditions of 0.6 to 2.5 meters. However, fisherfolk and small boats are advised to avoid venturing into open seas during periods of thunderstorms or rough waves.
