DATU HOFFER, Maguindanao del Sur – A 22-year-old farmer was injured after being shot by an unidentified gunman on Friday morning, September 19, 2025, in Sitio Buldos, Barangay Apas.
The victim was identified as Datu Ali L. Tabis, a resident of Barangay Sayap, who sustained a gunshot wound in the nape. According to police reports, Tabis was on his way home with his father, Barangay Kagawad Usop P. Tabis, when the suspect suddenly opened fire at around 10:30 a.m.
His father escaped unharmed, while the suspect immediately fled toward an unknown direction after the attack. The victim was rushed to the Cotabato Regional Hospital in Cotabato City for immediate medical treatment and is now recovering.
The Datu Hoffer Municipal Police Station has launched an investigation to determine the motive and identify the perpetrator. Authorities are also verifying the caliber of the firearm used in the incident.
