MAGSAYSAY, Misamis Oriental — Tragedy struck in Purok 2, Barangay Kauswagan, when a 47-year-old woman was hacked to death by her own relative inside their home on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Pertita Hinayon Gasta, while the suspect was named as Henry Hinayon Pable, 43. Initial police investigation revealed that the victim was in the kitchen when she was suddenly attacked by Pable using a bolo. Gasta sustained multiple wounds that led to her instant death.
Authorities disclosed that the suspect has a history of mental illness and existing medical records with the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Magsaysay.
Pable is now under the custody of the Magsaysay Municipal Police Station. Police are preparing to file a murder case against him.
