DAVAO CITY – Over Php 1 million worth of suspected shabu were confiscated in two separate police operations in Davao City on August 4, 2025, resulting in the arrest of two individuals, including a top regional drug personality and a woman involved in illegal gambling.


In a major anti-drug operation at around 3:05 p.m. in Barangay Ilang, authorities arrested a 31-year-old suspect identified only as alias “Am-Am,” a resident of Bago Uma, Menterbro. The suspect was apprehended during the implementation of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Rowena Apao-Adlawan.
Personnel from the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-XI), City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU-DCPO), Bunawan Police Station 6, and other units of the Police Regional Office XI carried out the operation. Confiscated from the suspect were suspected shabu with an estimated street value of Php 1,040,400 and a .38 caliber revolver.
Police said that alias “Am-Am” is listed as the Top 3 Regional Level High-Value Individual (HVI) in the illegal drug trade.
In a separate operation earlier that day at around 1:45 p.m., operatives from Sta. Ana Police Station 1 arrested a 22-year-old woman, alias “Crystal,” in Purok 3, Barangay 23-C. Initially targeted for her involvement in the illegal numbers game “last two,” she was found in possession of illegal gambling paraphernalia, including betting stubs, receipts, and a Php 50 bet money.
However, police also discovered two sachets of suspected shabu in her possession, with an estimated value of Php 44,880.
Both suspects are now in police custody and will face appropriate charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and other applicable laws.
Authorities continue to intensify their crackdown against illegal drugs and gambling in the region.
