BUTUAN CITY — Police operatives arrested a barangay official from Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, after seizing ₱167,565.60 worth of suspected shabu during a raid inside her residence on Thursday night, August 14.
Police Brigadier General Marcial Mariano P. Magistrado IV, Director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13, identified the suspect as alias “Rhea,” 42, who is classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) in the region’s anti-drug watchlist.
Acting on Search Warrant No. 2025-08-13-01, personnel from the Agusan del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit, Nasipit Municipal Police Station, and the 1st Agusan del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted the operation, resulting in the confiscation of 24.6 grams of suspected shabu. The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 3, in Butuan City on August 13.
PBGen Magistrado condemned the involvement of public officials in illegal drug activities, stressing that those entrusted to serve the people should uphold the highest standards of integrity.
“Just as we have vowed to the public, we will continue to intensify our aggressive campaign against illegal drugs. As public servants, we are duty-bound to uphold the highest standards of integrity. It is disheartening to see those entrusted by the people to serve them get involved in illegal activities,” he said.
The suspect is now in the custody of the Nasipit Municipal Police Station and faces charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
