ZAMBOANGA CITY — In a celebration that fuses imagination, knowledge, and compassion, SM City Mindpro has officially launched the Book Nook Book Donation Campaign, a local initiative that forms part of SM Supermalls’ nationwide movement to collect 40,000 books in honor of its 40th anniversary.

This heartfelt campaign aims to do more than gather pages — it seeks to ignite a passion for reading, foster lifelong learning, and nurture communities through the simple, yet powerful, act of sharing books.

“This campaign is more than a donation drive,” said Aileen Ann Villa-Enriquez, Mall Manager of SM City Mindpro. “We believe that books have the power to open minds and change lives. Through this campaign, we hope to create spaces where stories are shared, dreams are born, and futures are shaped.”

A Movement Beyond the Mall

Spearheaded by SM Supermalls across the country, the Book Nook Campaign underscores the company’s long-standing advocacy for literacy and education. A portion of the books collected will be turned over to the National Library of the Philippines and its affiliate libraries. Others will be used to expand Book Nook reading hubs in more SM malls and partner institutions nationwide — especially in underserved and far-flung communities.

These reading hubs will serve as safe spaces where children, youth, and families can access a world of stories and knowledge, regardless of their background or social status.

Call to Action: Donate a Book, Share a World

SM City Mindpro is inviting every Zamboangueño to be part of this transformative mission. The community is encouraged to donate unused books in good condition, including:

  • Fiction and non-fiction titles
  • Children’s books and young adult literature
  • Academic and reference books
  • Magazines and comics
