July 18, 2025 – Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte — In a decisive blow to illegal drug operations in the Bangsamoro region, the Police Regional Office – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) apprehended five individuals and confiscated illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Daiwan, Barangay Tanuel, Datu Odin Sinsuat, on July 16.
The operation, carried out by joint forces of the Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station and supporting units, was the result of validated surveillance and careful coordination. The suspects were arrested after being caught in the act of engaging in illicit drug transactions.
Seized from the suspects were approximately 12 grams of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth Php 81,600.00 in street value. Authorities also recovered various drug paraphernalia, marked buy-bust money, a homemade firearm, and a bladed weapon during the operation.
All five individuals are now under the custody of the Datu Odin Sinsuat MPS for documentation and legal proceedings. The inventory of confiscated items was conducted in the presence of mandated witnesses, in accordance with Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PBGen Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO BAR, lauded the successful operation, stating, “Our consistent efforts against illegal drugs are guided by our mission to maintain peace, order, and the well-being of our communities. We assure the public that PRO BAR will continue to intensify operations to ensure a safer Bangsamoro region.”
Authorities reiterated their call for continued community cooperation and vigilance in the fight against illegal drugs, emphasizing that a drug-free Bangsamoro is crucial to sustainable peace and development in the region.
