DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte — Three individuals, including a woman, were arrested after authorities intercepted suspected shabu during an intelligence-driven checkpoint operation around 7:30 p.m. on December 28 along the Cotabato–Shariff Aguak Road in Barangay Poblacion Dalican.
According to DOS MPS Commander PLTCOL Esmael Madin, police flagged down a black Suzuki minivan with plate number MAL1216 carrying the suspects identified as:
- Bryan Bersabella, 42 years old
- Carmie Joy Donayre, 34 years old, his live-in partner
- Egleserio Capuyan Jr., 51 years old, married, the vehicle’s driver
All are residents of Davao City and were reportedly on their way home after coming from Barangay Kuden, Talitay, Maguindanao del Norte.
During inspection, police recovered a medium-sized sachet containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 5 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱6,800. Authorities also seized an improvised glass tube tooter with drug residue, assorted identification cards, and other non-drug paraphernalia.
The three were immediately taken to DOS Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against the suspects.
Police reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining aggressive anti-drug operations in the province to prevent the transit and distribution of illegal drugs.
