The operation, which began around 5:50 p.m., was spearheaded by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 13 (PDEA RO 13) – Surigao del Sur Provincial Office. The Barobo Municipal Police Station, PIT SDS RIU 13, and the Special Action Force (14SAC/1SAB) provided critical support in executing a court-issued search warrant at a suspected drug den in Purok 2.

Authorities confiscated around 180 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱1,224,000. The illegal drugs were found in five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing approximately 30 grams and two knot-tied sachets weighing around 150 grams.

In addition to the illicit substances, several items typically used in drug trafficking were recovered from the site. These include a digital weighing scale, an improvised aluminum pipe, strips of aluminum foil, a wooden improvised sealer, and other drug paraphernalia.

Four individuals, including a minor, were arrested during the operation. The minor was promptly turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for appropriate intervention and assessment.

The adult suspects are facing multiple charges under Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, specifically for violations of Sections 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), 7 (Visiting a Drug Den), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), and 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs).

PDEA RO 13 lauded the strong inter-agency cooperation that made the successful raid possible and reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying the fight against illegal drugs in the region.
