A 26-year-old woman was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Barangay Dicalongan, Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur, on August 12, 2026, as she was reportedly about to board a private vehicle.

The shooting was reported to have occurred at around 9:30 p.m. in the said barangay, according to initial information from authorities.
Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office spokesperson PCpt. Guissepe Tamayo identified the victim as alias Alejandria Choi, a resident of Barangay Salman in Ampatuan.
Based on the initial police investigation, the victim was about to get into a vehicle when one of the suspects suddenly approached her and shot her at close range.
The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead following the attack.
Initial reports identified the assailants as riding-in-tandem suspects, although authorities have yet to establish their identities or determine whether more than one person was directly involved in the shooting.
Following the incident, Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) and other law enforcement personnel proceeded to the area to document the scene and gather evidence that could help identify and locate the perpetrators.
