COTABATO CITY — Minimum wage earners in the private sector across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are set to receive a ₱50 increase in their daily take-home pay following the signing of Wage Order No. BARMM-04.
The wage hike, approved by the Bangsamoro Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board and signed by Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE) Minister Muslimin Sema, will take effect 15 days after its official publication.
In Cotabato City, non-agriculture sector workers will now receive ₱411 per day, up from the previous ₱361. Those in the agriculture sector will see their daily wage increase from ₱336 to ₱386.
Meanwhile, in the provinces of Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi:
- Non-agriculture workers will now earn ₱386 daily, from the previous ₱336.
- Agriculture workers will receive ₱376, up from ₱326.
For the Special Geographic Area (SGA), the new wage adjustments are:
- Non-agriculture sector: from ₱341 to ₱391 per day
- Agriculture sector: from ₱316 to ₱366 per day
The wage increase also covers household workers, according to MOLE-BARMM.
BARMM Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua emphasized that the wage hike reflects the Bangsamoro Government’s commitment to listening to the needs of its people. He said the adjustment is the result of extensive public consultations conducted by MOLE-BARMM across the region.
