SAGUIARAN, Lanao del Sur — Authorities arrested two individuals identified as high-value drug personalities and seized approximately 587 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated national standard value of ₱3.9 million, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur, on Saturday morning, October 10, 2026.

The operation was conducted at around 10 a.m. and led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Lanao del Sur Provincial Office, in coordination with the Saguiaran Municipal Police Station and other police units.
Police Regional Office–Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) spokesperson Capt. Steffi Salanguit identified the arrested suspects as Jalil Adil Sultan, 37, alias “Anwar” or “Pado,” a resident of Piagapo, Lanao del Sur, and Tricky Hadjinur Pacalna, 45, alias “Triks,” who was reported to be a resident of Saguiaran.
Authorities said approximately 587 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, were recovered during the operation. The confiscated substance has an estimated street value of ₱700,000, while its national standard valuation reaches approximately ₱3.9 million.
The two figures represent different valuation methods, and authorities said the final valuation remains subject to verification.
Suspects, Evidence Turned Over to PDEA
Following their arrest, the two suspects and the confiscated evidence were placed under the custody of the PDEA–Lanao del Sur Provincial Office for proper disposition and the preparation of appropriate charges.
Authorities are expected to pursue charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The law penalizes illegal activities involving dangerous drugs, including the unauthorized sale, possession, distribution, and trafficking of prohibited substances, depending on the specific offense and evidence established.
The arrest of the two alleged high-value drug personalities forms part of law enforcement efforts to address the illegal drug trade in Lanao del Sur and other parts of the Bangsamoro region.
However, the allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to legal proceedings. Their guilt must be established in court, and they are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise.
Authorities have not provided further details about the identities of other individuals who may be connected to the case or whether additional arrests are being considered.
