Luuk, Sulu – June 23, 2025 — A 30-year-old man was apprehended by troops from the Alpha Company of the 101st Infantry “Sajahitra” Battalion, Philippine Army, during a routine checkpoint in Barangay Kan-Mindus, Luuk, Sulu, on the evening of June 22, 2025.

The suspect, identified only by his alias “TATTI,” was found in possession of an unlicensed .38 caliber revolver pistol with three live rounds concealed inside a sling bag. The arrest occurred around 6:15 PM and was promptly reported to 1LT Clent Mark C. Gaitera (INF) PA, Alpha Company Commander.

The battalion leadership, including Acting Battalion Commander LTC Dante E. Mantes (INF) GSC PA and Operations Officer 1LT Jeremiah E. Agaid (INF) PA, coordinated the immediate turn-over of the suspect and confiscated items.

By 6:30 PM, a team led by 2LT Mark Anthony S. Billones (INF) PA turned over the suspect and firearm to Luuk Municipal Police Station Chief, PCPT Marcelo B. Agarin, for documentation and proper legal disposition.

Recovered items:

  • One (1) unit of .38 caliber revolver pistol
  • Three (3) live rounds of ammunition

The suspect is now under police custody as authorities prepare to file appropriate charges in violation of laws on illegal possession of firearms.

The 101st Infantry “Sajahitra” Battalion reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and order in Luuk and neighboring areas, continuing close coordination with local law enforcement to curb the proliferation of loose firearms and criminal elements.
