Cagayan de Oro City – June 26, 2025 — Authorities confiscated an estimated P340,000 worth of suspected shabu during a search operation in Barangay Nazareth, Cagayan de Oro City, on Tuesday morning, June 25.
At around 6:22 a.m., operatives from Police Station 9 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) implemented Search Warrant No. SWA-061725-821 against a high-value target identified only by the alias “Sholoks.” The 43-year-old walking vendor, married and a resident of the area, was the subject of the operation for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Despite the successful enforcement of the search warrant, the suspect managed to evade arrest and remains at large. Police reports indicate that “Sholoks” had previously been arrested for a similar drug-related offense. His known base of operations is in Upper 29th Street, Barangay Nazareth.
Confiscated during the operation were 14 heat-sealed plastic sachets of varying sizes containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately 50 grams. Authorities estimate the haul’s value at P340,000 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s standard price index. Drug paraphernalia were also recovered at the scene.
All seized items are now under the custody of Police Station 9 for proper documentation and disposition.
While the suspect was not apprehended, authorities confirmed that criminal charges under R.A. 9165 will be filed. Once a warrant of arrest is issued, operatives will move to locate and arrest the fugitive.
Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) Regional Director PBGen Rolindo M. Suguilon lauded the operatives involved for their diligence and commitment. “This operation is a clear testament to our relentless drive to dismantle drug networks in Northern Mindanao. We will not stop until all those involved in the illegal drug trade are held accountable,” he said.
