Tamparan, Lanao del Sur – A joint police operation led to the arrest of a provincial-level Top 10 Most Wanted Person in Barangay Tatayawan North, Tamparan, Lanao del Sur, on the afternoon of May 19, 2025.
The 50-year-old male suspect, a local resident and carpenter, was apprehended at around 5:20 PM by personnel from the Tamparan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Provincial Intelligence and Detection Management Unit of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office.
The arrest was carried out under a Bench Warrant of Arrest for violations of Section 28 (a) of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Section 15, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). The warrant, which included no bail recommendation, was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 8 in Marawi City on May 13, 2025.
Police records show that the suspect had previously been arrested during a buy-bust operation on September 16, 2024, along with his wife, who remains in custody at the Provincial Jail. He was released after posting bail but failed to attend court hearings, prompting the court to issue a bench warrant.
The suspect is currently in police custody at Tamparan MPS for documentation, with authorities preparing to return the warrant to the issuing court.
PBGEN Romeo J. Macapaz, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR), commended the operation and reaffirmed the PNP’s dedication to public safety.
“This operation sends a strong message that fugitives cannot escape the long arm of the law. The safety and security of every community in the Bangsamoro Region remains our utmost priority,” said PBGEN Macapaz.
