City Hall Launches 3-Day Calibration Drive

A three-day registration and calibration of weighing scales and other measuring devices used in the city’s public market began today at the second floor of the New Economic Building. The activity is spearheaded by the City Treasurer’s Office and the City Economic Enterprises Office.

The primary goal of the initiative is to ensure that all weighing instruments used in the market are accurate and in good condition. This is to guarantee that consumers receive the correct weight for the goods they purchase, promoting fairness and transparency in market transactions.

To further protect consumers, a Timbangan ng Bayan (Public Weighing Scale) is available at the market. Shoppers are encouraged to use it to verify the accuracy of their purchases.

Market vendors who have not yet registered their weighing devices are urged to do so as soon as possible. Unregistered and uncalibrated devices are subject to confiscation during random inspections.

City officials reminded vendors that proper registration and validation of their weighing scales not only builds trust with buyers but also helps prevent penalties and legal issues in the future.
