An alleged drug peddler was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by authorities in Purok Bulawan, Mother Barangay Bagua, Cotabato City around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Dats”, a 33-year-old male driver and resident of Purok Sampaguita, Bagua 3, Cotabato City, was apprehended for allegedly selling illegal drugs.
The operation was led by Police Captain Kenneth Van A. Encabo, Station Commander of Police Station 4 of the Cotabato City Police Office (CCPO), along with personnel from the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET), the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), the 1404th Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB 14-A), and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) 4th Platoon of Maguindanao del Sur. The activity was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), under the overall supervision of Police Colonel Jibin M. Bongcayao, City Director of CCPO.
Confiscated items and further case details were not disclosed as of this writing. Authorities said appropriate charges will be filed against the suspect, who is now in police custody.
Law enforcement agencies in the region continue to intensify their efforts in curbing the spread of illegal drugs as part of their anti-drug campaign.
