Zamboanga Sibugay – The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office (ZSBPPO) has recorded a notable decrease in crime rates for the first quarter of 2025, highlighting the effectiveness of its proactive crime prevention strategies and operational accomplishments.
From January to March 2025, the province reported a 13.6% decline in eight focus crimes, with incidents dropping from 66 in the same period last year to 57 this year. This reduction underscores the success of law enforcement initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and order in the province.
Alongside the drop in crime rates, ZSBPPO also reported a 9.6% increase in operational accomplishments, rising from 115 recorded cases in Q1 2024 to 126 in Q1 2025. These achievements reflect the intensified efforts of law enforcement personnel in ensuring public safety and security.
PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo, Provincial Director of ZSBPPO, attributed the positive trend to the strategic measures implemented by the police force and their active engagement with the community.
“Our proactive strategies, coupled with ongoing community engagement efforts, are making a real difference in creating a safer environment for our residents,” Dasugo stated. “We remain dedicated to upholding the law and protecting our communities. The significant reduction in focus crimes is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our law enforcement officers in Zamboanga Sibugay.”
With the continued implementation of effective crime prevention programs and strengthened community partnerships, the ZSBPPO remains committed to further enhancing public safety and sustaining the downward trend in criminal activities in the province.
