Cotabato City, April 11, 2025 — A high-value drug suspect was arrested and over Php 2 million worth of suspected shabu was seized during a major anti-drug operation in Marawi City on April 10.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Lanao del Sur Provincial Office (PDEA LDS PO), together with the 45th Special Action Company (SAC), 500th Engineering Combat Battalion (ECB), Task Force Marawi, and the Marawi City Police Station, carried out the successful operation in Barangay Sabala Manao Proper.
PDEA Regional Director Gil Cesario P. Castro identified the arrested individual as alias “Orak,” a 24-year-old male. He is facing charges for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities seized one black garbage bag containing three knot-tied transparent plastic bags with a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu. The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 300 grams, with an estimated street value of Php 2,040,000. Also recovered were marked buy-bust money and a mobile phone.
“This achievement stands as a testament to the unwavering collaboration among law enforcement agencies and the LGU of Marawi City, highlighting their steadfast commitment to eradicating the drug menace in Lanao del Sur and the Bangsamoro Region,” said Director Castro.
Authorities reaffirmed their resolve to intensify efforts against illegal drugs through coordinated intelligence operations and community involvement.
